Composite Veneers
Veneers are very thin shells that are permanently bonded to the front of the teeth. This is done to give the illusion of teeth being a different shape, size, position, or color. When done properly, they copy natural teeth beautifully.

Composite material is used. Composite veneers are mostly used in younger patients that need or want to improve their smiles. This is a prep less procedure. But this is not always appropriate, as there are limitations in what can be done with this material.
Porcelain Veneers
A veneer only requires the removal of the facial layer of enamel (0.3 - 0.5 mm) and so this is consider a minimally invasive treatment option. Before getting the treatment started, a new smile must be designed by a doctor with extensive training and a broad understanding of natural beauty.

Dr. Alvarado has developed a personal approach. Her background in esthetic dentistry, combined with respect for the biology and function of teeth, allows her to create beautiful, natural looking smiles that fit with the overall face of each individual. Most importantly, the work is always done ethically, which means minimal drilling on your teeth and doing only what is necessary for each case.

Restorative Dentistry
Crowns
Crowns are usually appropriate for teeth that have been very compromised by decay that a filling would not be capable to restore. A crown gives a tooth 360 degrees of coverage restoring the patients natural bite, look, and feel. Now a days, these restorations are made metal-free using porcelain, eliminating any dark shadows on the gum line and giving the restored teeth a more natural look.

Tooth Color Restoration
When a tooth gets decay, the infected tooth structure is cleaned and replaced with a tooth-colored composite material that is shaped and polished to replicate the missing portion of the tooth. By treating the decay early with a filling, we keep the infection from spreading beyond the original area to protect the gums, tooth nerve and roots. We also replace any existing silver fillings, if the patient is looking for a more esthetic alternative.
